For a while now Dell have sold the XPS range of laptops, aiming them specifically at gamers. Snazzy designs and high specifications have earned them a good reputation, if not exactly that ‘must-have’ name for anyone looking for a new gaming laptop.

We recently purchased the Dell XPS M1530 laptop computer as it was a "Today's Special Value" on QVC. The computer had a ton of up-to-date specifications as well as a lot of great software included for free, making it a hard deal to pass up. Since it was available on Easy pay, the payments could be stretched out over 4 months much like a car. The laptop wasn't one of the cheaper models, but it is one of the more feature-rich models making it a nice piece of technology for your computing needs. What follows is my review of this laptop, having used other laptops before and being familiar with them from a previous job. This isn't one the cheaper models, but it is one of the more fully-featured and capable models on the market with some "cutting edge" technology as of mid 2009.

The Acer AS5951G-9694 offers 6GB of RAM, which is one of the highest amounts we have seen compared to several similar devices. In addition, there is 750GB of hard drive memory also available on this device. We were surprised to see such a high amount of memory available. You won’t find this much memory on many laptop computers.

This laptop features a battery life of seven hours on a single battery charge. This is an adequate amount of battery life and provides for an extended period of use. Although, this battery life is nothing extraordinary and it is what you will find on several laptop computers.
